Elliot House began its life as a Sheltered/Support Living House. Elliot House is an annex to Lear House (registered with CQC) but it is also proving to be very popular for people seeking respite care; the homely atmosphere of Elliot House lends itself particularly well for this. The facilities at Elliot are all located on ground floor level. There are nine single bed sitting rooms that have their own en suite shower rooms and there is one bathroom that allows for assisted bathing. The house also has a residents’ kitchen and dining room as well as a large lounge area. There is a laundry room in the house. All of the rooms enjoy a view of either the grounds or a view overlooking the village. Beautiful, maintained gardens surround most of the building and there is a sizeable car park available for visitors to use.
We are starting to use Elliot House as a centre for older people in the community who would like to use our facilities for the day.
To support our residents, we have a team of care staff who are on duty 24 hours, 7 days a week. There is a cook who prepares and serves a freshly cooked midday meal every day and also makes and prepares breakfast and tea.
Residents of Elliot House are able to take part in the wide range of regular activities that are put on by the dedicated Activities Coordinator, who visits twice a week and organises outings, exercise and activities. Activities can range from trips out to local attractions, gardening, shopping, coffee and quiz mornings, arts and crafts, sing-a-longs, cocktail or wine evenings, and music events – there’s something for all tastes! The list goes on, and continues to grow with each resident’s suggestion.
