At Abbeyfield Hoylake and West Kirby Society, we’re always looking for ways to bring joy, laughter and a bit of friendly competition into our residents’ days. Last week, we did just that with a lively quiz showdown between our wonderful residents and our dedicated staff. And what an event it was!
The quiz featured forty general knowledge questions, ranging from history and geography to pop culture and a sprinkling of quirky trivia. Everyone was on the edge of their seats (or leaning forward in their armchairs!) as each question was read aloud. It was heartwarming to see the residents and staff alike putting their heads together, whispering strategies and sharing smiles over their answers.
The room was filled with cheers, groans and plenty of laughter as the quiz unfolded. From surprising moments of brilliance to a few hilariously wrong answers that had everyone in stitches, the atmosphere was nothing short of electric.
As the final scores were tallied, the results revealed a nail-biting tie: 20 points for the residents and 20 points for the staff! It was a fantastic display of teamwork, wit and camaraderie on both sides.
After the quiz, we all gathered for tea, coffee and biscuits, sharing stories and enjoying the warm community spirit that makes Abbeyfield Hoylake and West Kirby Society such a special place.
