Earlier this month, we gathered at Lear House for our Annual Carol Service, a beloved tradition that always brings warmth and joy to the heart. This years’ service was a beautiful blend of festive readings, uplifting carols and a sense of community that truly encapsulated the spirit of Christmas.
Christmas is a time for reflection, a time to celebrate love, togetherness and the kindness that binds us all. It’s a time to pause and appreciate the little moments that make life so special—whether it’s sharing laughter, spending time with loved ones, or simply enjoying a peaceful moment of reflection. Our Annual Carol Service is a wonderful way to honour these traditions, offering a time for everyone to come together and experience the joy of the season.
As we listened to the readings, many of us were reminded of the deeper meaning of Christmas—the birth of hope, peace and goodwill. The carols that followed filled the room with a familiar sense of nostalgia, inviting us to sing along to some of our favourite festive songs, a reminder of the power of music to connect us all.
After the service, we gathered to enjoy a warming cup of mulled wine and some delicious mince pies. These festive treats were the perfect ending to an afternoon that celebrated the true meaning of Christmas: connection, joy and togetherness. It was a time to reflect on the past year and look ahead with hope for the future, all while enjoying the company of friends and loved ones.
